Tour around the Lago Llanquihue
Duration: 1 Full Day Starting at 9:00 AM
We start the day picking you early at the morning at your hotel in Puerto Varas and getting on the bike a 9:00 AM in direction to Ensenada town (45 km). A beautiful route around the Lago Llanquihue where you can see high mountains with closed vegetation full of Coigues, Ulmos, and Olivillos. At 9.40 AM we arrived at Ensenada but we don’t stop here.
We take the 225 route on way to Saltos del Petrohue (10 Km).
We stop here to enter at Petrohue river falls a worlwide tourist attraction. You will see the falls of a fooamy waters between rocks encased by the Osorno volcano the sound of these rapids induce meditation.
Around 10:15 am we get on route to Petrohue (5 Km), specifically to Lago todos los Santos, a beautiful turquoise blue lake at the feets of the mountains of National Park Vicente Pérez Rosales we take a break here to take some photos and walk around the beach wich is of volcano sand.
Around 10:45 am we get on the bike on route to Volcan Osorno (about 30 Km), we stop in the middle at Laguna Verde, a beautiful green little lake wich is a small inlet of the Lago Llanquihue. This lagoon has an intense emerald green color.
Get back on the bike for aproximately 14 Km until the base of the Osorno Volcano. Here we need to slow down our speed and ride very careful because we star to ascend the curves of the Volcano until the top where is a refuge (aproximately 20-30 minutes of ascend). At the top we have to the right a spectacular view of Lago Llanquihue to the left the mountains of National Park Vicente Perez Rosales is just wonderful here we have a coffe break with some delicious local products.
At 12:30 PM we get on the bike in direction to Puerto Octay (70 Km) city that was once the most important port of Lago Llanquihue characterized by its rich and varied traditional architecture product of the German colonization. Here we have lunch in a local restorant.
At 15:00 PM we get on the bike in direction to the city of Frutillar (28 Km) specifically to Frutillar Bajo recognized for its musical weeks in summer and where is the Teatro del Lago a marvelous construction dedicated to boost the classic music and other liberal arts on the region de Los Lagos. This is a perfect place for coffe looking the Lago Llanquihue in the coffe shop of the Teatro del Lago listening some classic and peaceful music behind. We have time to walk around the theater knowing more of the history of the city.
At 16:30 PM we get on the route to the city of Llanquihue (18 Km) but we take the inside route (V155 or V305) by the amazing fields of Totoral this is one of my favourites routes it is just amazing you need to see it. We arrived at city of Llanquihue an industrial city we dont stop here we take the 5 Sur until Puerto Varas where we finish our tour at 17:30 PM app
